Voting underway for Miss CIAA

February 27, 2006The CIAA basketball tournament is underway in Charlotte, North Carolina. In addition to the basketball games, a series of other events are held in conjunction with the tournament. Super Saturday events include the Miss CIAA contest and the cheerleading exhibition. Be sure to support our candidate Miss. ECSU, Carleta Ricks and the ECSU cheerleading squad on Saturday morning. Judges for the Miss CIAA contest are looking for a winner who has outstanding class, intelligence, and style and school spirit. Miss. ECSU will compete against the other college queens from universities that participate in the CIAA. She needs your vote to win. Online voting, academic excellence and the writing skills are also factors that will determine the success of the winner. The college queens will be presented during the halftime show of the men’s semifinal game on Friday night. The winner of the Miss CIAA contest will be crowned on Saturday morning. Carleta E. Ricks is a senior majoring in political science at Elizabeth City State University. Carleta is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, Phi Alpha Theta Honor Society, Student Government Association, Student Activities Committee and the Pan-Hellenic Council. Carleta is the reigning Miss Elizabeth City State University for the 2005-2006 academic school year.
