Two ECSU students inducted into Psi Chi

Two students at Elizabeth City State University, Natasha Cox, a senior from Durham, N.C. and Jocelyn Freeman, a junior from Germantown, Md. were inducted into Psi Chi, the national honor society in Psychology. Psi Chi was founded in 1929 for the purposes of encouraging, stimulating, and maintaining excellence in scholarship and advancing the science of Psychology. To qualify, students must: complete either three semesters or five quarters of college courses complete nine semester hours or 14 quarter hours of psychology courses rank in the top 35 percent of their class in general scholarship have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in psychology courses and cumulative grades be an active member in the psychology club and other departmental related activities. The Rev. Dr. Roosevelt Askew, director of ECSU’s Counseling & Testing Services, provided the keynote address for the Psi Chi induction ceremony. Dr. Kulwinder Kaur Walker is the advisor for ECSU’s chapter of Psi Chi.
