The Elizabeth City State University Department of Language, Literature and Communication will hold a spring conference, "Making the Network: Your Future in the Workplace," March 23-24. The conference will bring graduates from ECSU’s communication program back to the department to recount their experiences as writers, reporters, program hosts and educators. Many of these alumni graduated from the department during the past 10 years. They will discuss their work during a panel discussion moderated by Professor Wayne Dawkins of the Scripps Howard School of Journalism and Communications at Hampton University. Rehema Ellis, a NBC news correspondent, will deliver the morning welcome to participants and attendees on March 24. The department will present local dentist, Dr. C.B. Jones Jr., with its Community Involvement Award for bringing jazz programming to the university over 15 years. The events are open to the public. One of the highlights of the conference will be the establishment of a scholarship for future communication students. For more information, please contact Mr. Parnell Bartlett, 252-335-3349.
