North Carolina Secretary of Transportation Visits ECSU’s Aviation Science Program

North Carolina Secretary of Transportation Gene Conti, left, assures ECSU aviation science students and ECSU Professor Orestes Gooden that North Carolina will soon see an increase in the number jobs in the aviation industry. Conti met with students while he and several guests from the N.C. Department of Transportation toured ECSU’s Aviation Science Department and met with university administrators. Currently, ECSU is the only university in the UNC system that offers a B. S. degree in aviation. Minors within the degree program include aviation management, computer science, avionics, electronics, flight education, public administration and space science.
