Magnificent Masks featured at Port Discover

Magnificent Animal Masks is the Make-It-Take-It at Port Discover in March. Growing up in the animal world is a tough job. Children visiting Port Discover in March can select create an exquisite animal mask, decorate it, and learn how animals must survive in the wild. Monthly Make-Its are free and available to anyone visiting the Center during regular operating hours. Port Discover is located at 613 E. Main Street. Port Discover’s regular hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. For more information call 252-338-6117 or www.portdiscover.org. Port Discover is a community-based, non-profit organization, established to enhance the public’s understanding and enjoyment of science through engaging programs, activities, and exhibits. Elizabeth City State University along with the Elizabeth City Area Chamber of Commerce initiated the project that has attracted broad community support, including Elizabeth City Morning Rotary, College of the Albemarle, Albemarle Hospital, Museum of the Albemarle, Elizabeth City Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, and Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Public Schools. Port Discover is also a provisional member of the Grassroots Science Museums Collaborative, a collaboration of 28 North Carolina science centers that promote science education throughout North Carolina
