ECSU observes Research Week February 1 – 5

Elizabeth City State University’s School of Mathematics, Science and Technology will celebrate Research Week February 1-5. "Enhancing Research and Education through Partnerships" is the theme. The week includes panel discussions and lectures which will be held in the Jenkins Science Center.
Dr. Linda Hayden, a professor in the ECSU Mathematics and Computer Science Department and director of the Center of Excellence in Remote Sensing Education and Research, is the coordinator for research week. Dr. Harry Bass is dean of the School of Mathematics, Science and Technology.
"Our goal is not only to showcase existing research and education projects, but also to provide stimulus for future collaborations, internships, curriculum enhancements, research, discovery and economic development," Bass said.&nbsp "I hope that the audiences will be inspired by the panels, seminars, competitions and research poster presentations that are scheduled this week."

Topic of discussion: Internship Opportunities for Undergraduates.&nbsp This panel of students will describe their 2009 internship experiences. We will also announce summer 2010 internship opportunities.
