The Honors Program will hold its annual Honors Convocation at 2 pm on April 10 in the auditorium of the Mickey L. Burnim Fine Arts Center. Over 50 awards will be distributed to ECSU students who have excelled in the Schools of Arts and Humanities, Psychology and Education, Business and Economics and Mathematics, Science and Technology. During the Honors Program four students will receive the prestigious Chancellor’s Emblem blazer. Scholarship awards for ECSU’s outstanding students may range from $300 to $1,000. The Honors Program is held annually to recognize students who have excelled academically. Many of the awards come from university departments as well as professional associations. Many recipients recognized during the Honor’s Program are accepted in some of the nation’s finest graduate schools and award winning research laboratories. The keynote speaker is Dr. Steven Gilchrist, a practicing physician and a 1999 alumnus, from the Honors Program. He is also the son of Chancellor and Mrs. Gilchrist.
