ECSU holds march for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Elizabeth City State University, the Beta Zeta Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., and the City of Elizabeth City will hold a commemorative march from the campus to City Hall on January 15. The march, held in memory of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his pursuit of civil rights, begins at 9 a.m. at the G.R. Little Library. The annual commemorative program begins at 10 a.m. at City Hall. Marchers will proceed from the G.R. Little Library on Park View Drive, to Southern Avenue, to Water Street left on Main Street right on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive left on Colonial Avenue and end at City Hall. Dr. Willie J. Gilchrist, interim Chancellor of ECSU, will provide the commemorative speech at City Hall. The public is invited to participate in this national holiday march.
