ECSU Concert Brings Broad Musical Range to Stage Nov. 10
When Elizabeth State University does music, it does it right. That’s why when the ECSU Department of Visual and Performing Arts presents a combined fall 2016 concert featuring chamber groups and the ECSU Jazz Ensemble, you will want to be there, front and center.
The free concert happens Thursday, Nov. 10, in the Robinson Auditorium of the Burnim Fine Arts Center at 7:30 p.m.
The evening will open with the chamber groups, conducted by Dr. Carlos Espinosa. These chamber ensembles will showcase small group combinations of instruments, performing works by Ravel, Schubert, and Villa-Lobos.
The second half of the program will feature the ECSU Jazz Ensemble performing music by Horace Silver, Herbie Hancock, and Duke Ellington.
According to music professor Douglas Jackson, “This is a rare occasion where ECSU music students will demonstrate a broad range of musicianship in the same evening.”
The event is free and open to the public.
