ECSU celebrates National Library Week, April 15-21

Elizabeth City State University will celebrate National Library Week, April 15-20. The theme for this year’s celebration is "Communities Come Together @ Your Library." This week is Amnesty Week so patrons with overdue materials can return them and pay no penalty fees. A list of free events for this year’s National Library week follows: April 16-20 ECSU Student Art Exhibit on Display – G. R. Little Library This display includes pencil drawings, paintings and sculptures by ECSU students and a local quilter. April 16 Story Reading Hour For youngsters ages 4 – 10 10 a.m., G. R. Little Library – Board Room Sponsored by: G. R. Little Library Club April 17 "Meet the Artists and Quilter" 2 p.m., G. R. Little Library – Board Room Participants: Heather DeShields, Keith A. Green, Steven McIntyre, Gavin L. Smith, ECSU student artists Mrs. Mary McFarland, a local quilter April 17 Library Workers’ Day – T-Shirt Day G. R. Little Library Page After Page Book sale 10 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Lobby of the G. R. Little Library April 18 Poetry and Jazz in Your Library Hour: 12 noon, at the Little Theatre Brown bag lunch and poetry reading by Finda Songor, a student poet majoring in music industry studies and a member of the University Choir Music by ECSU Jazz Ensemble with Professor Maurice Leflore, Conductor April 19 Know Book Store sales 11:30 – 6 p.m., G.
