ECSU Albemarle Symphony Orchestra held on April 25

The Music Department at Elizabeth City State University presents the ECSU Albemarle Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Professor Todd Parrish at 7:30 p.m. on April 25. The program will include a performance by Dr. Roosevelt Newson, ECSU’s first Spangler Endowed Professor and the chairperson of the ECSU Music Department. Newson, the piano soloist for the evening, will perform George Gershwin’s "Rhapsody in Blue." Other works on the program include Edward Elgar’s "Pomp and Circumstance March No. 4" and the finale from Dvorak’s New World Symphony. The orchestra is comprised of ECSU students and other musicians from the greater Albemarle area. The performance is free and open to the public.
