The ECSU Foundation celebrates the arrival of a donation by Mr. Phillip Templeton of Chesapeake, Va, owner of Emerald Lakes Apartments, that will provide a year’s free rent to two deserving graduate students. The students are enrolled for the 2007-2008 academic year. Graduate students are those who have earned a bachelor’s degree and completing college courses for the purpose of earning either a master’s, doctoral or professional degree, such as M.D. or J.D. for doctors or attorneys. ECSU offers four master’s degrees, M.Ed. in Elementary Education, M.S.A. for School Administration, and M.S. in Biology and Mathematics, and has partnered with UNC-Chapel Hill’s School of Pharmacy for a Pharm.D. degree. The ECSU Foundation accepts and manages assorted donations to the university that benefits current students or those who will attend in the future once a donation has earned specified interest or endowment status. All donations to the ECSU Foundation are tax deductible. Donations can be slated to benefit specific organizations, such as those in the performing arts, the sciences or other specified fields of study. To learn how you can make a tax deductible donation to the ECSU Foundation, call the Division of Institutional Advancement at 252-335-3225. ECSU is a 116-year-old public institution in the UNC system that attracts a large segment of students from northeast North Carolina.
