The University of North Carolina (UNC) President Erskine Bowles, Board of Governor’s Chairman Jim Phillips and members of a statewide blue-ribbon commission are visiting communities across North Carolina to hear and discuss your views on how the UNC campuses can best serve our state now and in the future. Under the direction of President Bowles and Chairman Phillips, The University of North Carolina Tomorrow Initiative wants to know specifically: What are the challenges facing your community and how can the UNC campuses help? What programs and services should The UNC offer that will benefit your community? What knowledge and skills do our students need to be prepared for the jobs of tomorrow? How can the UNC help improve economic opportunities in your area? How can the UNC better serve you and your community? As chancellor of Elizabeth City State University, I want to personally invite you to attend this very important event. Your input is vital to the growth of northeastern North Carolina. The event will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2007 at the K.E. White Graduate Center, 1704 Weeksville Road, Elizabeth City, NC 27909 from 4 p.m.- 7 p.m. Please RSVP no later than September 12, 2007 by contacting Ms. Tonisha Mozelle, (252) 335-3045 or Dr. Ali Khan (252) 335-3242.
