The G. R. Little Library at Elizabeth City State University will celebrate National Library Week April 12-17 2009. During this Amnesty Week, patrons who have overdue books can return the books without being fined. April 12 The ECSU Archivist, Jean Bischoff, presents an exhibit, beginning April 12th, featuring photos, and the story of an unknown young woman whose portrait was discovered in the University Archives. April 14 Children’s Story Hour: 10 am in the G. R. Little Library Board Room. Susan Hinkle of Page After Page Bookstore will share stories with the children and a brief film featuring Peanuts comic strip character Charlie Brown will follow the stories. Guest speaker at 2 p.m. in the G.R. Little Theater. Friends of the G. R. Little Library present Shelby Strothers, president of East Carolina University’s Friends of the Library. She will review the formation and evolution of their group, and the kinds of events and activities they are involved with that benefit the library. April 15 National Library Workers Day Celebrate with the staff of the G. R. Little Library. Come relax, grab a book, chat with library staff, explore the wealth of information in the databases and other online resources-. Discover something new! Enter a drawing to win free movie tickets the Carolina Theatre. April 16 Book sale from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the lobby of the library. Guests from Page After Page and Earth 383 will display an assortment of books for your collection Guest speaker at 2 p.m. in the G. R. Little Theatre. Poet, singer, author and ECSU alumna (2006) Miss Krystle J. Lee will share her poetry, musical arrangements and entries from her upcoming book, "Silent Epiphanies."
