November 18, 2005Ms. Patricia Gibbs received funding for the Strengthening Historically Black Colleges and Universities which was funded by the U. S. Department of Education in the amount of $2,253,287. This grant will provide financial assistance to establish or strengthen the physical plants, financial management, and academic resources of ECSU. Funds will also enhance the institution’s infrastructure and represents a foundation of self sufficiency for the university. The project will provide computer labs and equipment for educational purposes, construction, maintenance, improvement in the library, classroom and other instructional facilities. Tutoring, counseling and student service programs will also be provided as well as administrative, accreditation initiatives and funds management and faculty development.
