Art Festival Concert is April 12

April 11, 2005Elizabeth City State University will display their best trained musicians and singers at 7 p.m. April 12, 2005 during the Spring Arts Concert. With performances by professional guests, the program will conclude as a rare night of combined splendor. This free concert includes performances by the ECSU/Albemarle Community Orchestra, the Symphonic Wind Ensemble, the Collegians Jazz Ensemble, and the University Choir. ECSU music Professor Amelia Horne promises the evening will give local fans a preview of upcoming concerts by those groups. "There are small ensembles appearing on program between the big ones. We have a string quartet with a vocalist a visiting violist who is the principal player of a major orchestra a new composition by our resident composer and a beautiful guitar trio spliced between great performances of all major ensembles," Horne’ Harris said. "It will be an enjoyable evening of music." The event is part of Elizabeth City State University’s School of Arts and Humanities first arts festival, "Sharing the Arts" which runs April 12-15 to highlight the work of performing artists in music, drama, art and photography.
