Area College Week Kicks Off With Chancellor’s Color Run
The Elizabeth City Area Chamber of Commerce recognizes that the region’s college students are an important part of the community. That’s why it has organized College Week, bringing students from Elizabeth City State University, College of the Albemarle, and Mid-Atlantic Christian University together for a series of events, kicking off with ECSU’s 3rd Annual Chancellor’s Color Run, Saturday, Sept. 9.
The Chamber will also host a Business After Hours at Museum of the Albemarle on Tuesday, bringing students together with the business community.
Events also include church worship services, a 9/11 remembrance service and College Flag Dedication.
College Week events include:
Saturday
ECSU Chancellor’s 3rd Annual Color Run at 8 a.m. at Roebuck Stadium
Downtown Waterfront Market at Mariners Wharf Park at 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
ECSU Vikings Football Game vs. UNC-Pembroke at 1 p.m. at Roebuck Stadium
Sunday
– Worship services at Riverside United Methodist Church, 1400 Edgewood Drive at 8:45 a.m. and 11 a.m. Reception for students from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the fellowship hall.
– Church of the Redeemer, 207 NC Highway 343, Camden; worship service at 10:30 a.m. Coffee hours to follow.

– Business After Hours hosted by Xenith Bank at Museum of the Albemarle from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

– Lunch Bunch Business Card Exchange at Dairy Queen of Elizabeth City, 509 W. Ehringhaus St. from noon to 1 p.m.
– Evening on the River hosted by MACU with canoes, kayaks, cornhole and concessions on the lawn from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Thursday
Wal-Mart College Flag Dedications at 10 a.m.
Sept. 24
– College of the Albemarle Movie on the Lawn. Concessions and games begin at 6:30 p.m. “Guardians of the Galaxy 2” begins
