A $100000 donation will support athletic scholarships

The ECSU Intercollegiate Athletics Department and the ECSU Foundation celebrate the arrival of a $100000 pledge to the Athletic Director’s Scholarship Fund by a local businessman. Mr. Andrea Simpson an Elizabeth City resident and friend of the university made an initial donation of $10000 and will repeat that donation for the next 10 years for a total of $100000. The contribution supports a scholarship fund for student-athletes that already existed. Eligible student-athletes are required to have a minimum 2.5 grade point average (GPA) maintain their status as a full-time enrolled student a minimum SAT of 950 or ACT equivalent as an entering freshman and maintain a GPA of 3.0 after the freshman year.
