WRVS receives funds from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting

June 21, 2005 The ECSU Radio Station WRVS received funding from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting in the amount of $125,961. Mr. Talbert Gray is the Director of the program. At the forefront of WRVS’s mission is to serve as a training facility for students and community volunteers interested in professional broadcasting careers in radio. The program assists with training for students and volunteer staff by providing the knowledge and skills necessary to compete with professionals for jobs in the broadcast industry. Additionally, Mr. Talbert Gray was awarded $15,000 by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting for the Internet Services Acquisition Grant. The program provides funds for WRVS to acquire qualified web services from national or regional Internet suppliers to support the website. Qualified website services or service providers include: national or regional website content providers, application service providers, website content management or design services, and Internet streaming providers.
