Vikings picked to finish third in the CIAA East

October 15, 2005The 2005-06 CIAA Men’s Pre-Season All-CIAA Team and predicted order of finish was announced Thursday morning at the annual basketball roundup in Charlotte, NC. The Elizabeth City State University Vikings were picked to finish third in the CIAA Eastern Division and senior guard Tyrone Smith was voted to the 2005-06 Pre-Season All-CIAA team as voted by the CIAA Basketball Coaches Association. Defending NCAA Division II Champion Virginia Union was picked to finish first in the East followed by Bowie State, ECSU, Virginia State, Shaw and Saint Paul’s. In the West, Johnson C. Smith was picked first followed by Winston-Salem State, Saint Augustine’s, Fayetteville State, North Carolina Central and Livingstone.
