The Elizabeth City State University Concert Choir presents "The Sounds of African Americans: The Strengths Within" concert at 7 p.m., on February 8, at Arts of the Albemarle’s McGuire Theatre, 516 East Main Street, in Elizabeth City. This performance depicts the essence of African Americans through songs and poetic interpretation. The presentation will deliver powerful and realistic activities associated with lives that span from senior citizens to today’s young African Americans. The journey will present basic snapshots of how the African American culture in today’s global society positively impacts tomorrow’s outcome. The presentation will present works by African American composers and poets. The ticket price is $15.
