January 07, 2005Celeste Trahan, a freshman on the Elizabeth City State University women’s basketball team, has been named the top rookie in the CIAA for the third consecutive week. Trahan, a 6-2 center from Stockton, CA, has made an immediate impact for the Lady Vikings this season, averaging 12.1 points and 10.8 rebounds per game. In the first eight games of her collegiate career, she has collected 3 double-doubles while becoming the Lady Vikings’ top rebounder and second leading scorer. In two games (Barton College and Columbus State), Trahan fell a point short of collecting her fourth and fifth double-doubles of the season. In the CIAA, she is tied at 15th in scoring, is ranked 2nd in rebounding and blocked shots, and is tied for 10th in field goal percentage.
