Team ECSU raised $4,000 for cancer research, part of an estimated $100,000 raised locally during last weekend’s Relay for Life. The goal is $130,000. The American Cancer Society holds the event in communities around the nation as a fundraiser for cancer research. Michel Rice is the coordinator for Team ECSU. He credits many people who contributed time, money and energy to the campaign or those who set up and worked the booth at Northeastern High School. Rice applauds everyone who walked during the walk-a-thon especially Kappa Epsilon, the Pharmacy fraternity members, who walked during the wee hours of the night. The team captains will make their final reports on June 19 so donations are still being accepted. Call Michael Rice at 335-3480 for more information on Team ECSU.
