Student Government Association Hosts Tuition and Fees Forum

Elizabeth City State University will hold two tuition and student fee forums on Tuesday, Nov. 13 and Thursday, Nov. 15 in an effort to receive feedback from university students. All students are invited attend these informational sessions and participate in the process.
The process has been initiated by the University of North Carolina System offices and is taking place across all 17 UNC constituent campuses. The format will include a presentation of information focusing on tuition and student fees for the 2019-2020 school year, and take into consideration feedback from students.
Since ECSU is a part of the N.C. Promise tuition program, setting tuition for fall 2019 and beyond at $500 per semester for in-state students, and $2,500 for out-of-state students, the focus of the forums will be primarily on student fees. Fees to be discussed are student activities, athletics, health services, education and technology, and campus safety.
The information obtained from the forums will be used by ECSU staff and student leadership to make recommendations to Interim Chancellor Dr. Karrie Dixon, who will then issue ECSU’s proposal to the ECSU Board of Trustees and the UNC Board of Governors.
The first forum takes place Tuesday, Nov. 13, 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Ridley Student Center, room 206. The Thursday, Nov. 15 forum takes place from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Fine Arts Complex.
