Mrs. Regina McCoy Davis was awarded an additional $14,050 for the Project Commit to Prevent HIV/STD program by the NC Department of Health and Human Services. The project goals are to work collaboratively with the NC HIV/STD Prevention and Care branch and other HIV/STD service providers near ECSU, particularly those providing HIV/STD counseling and testing to strengthen linkages. Specifically, the objectives are 1) to empower students at ECSU with special emphasis on African Americans and American Indians and 2) to change behaviors that put them at risk for HIV and STD infections by expanding HIV/STD prevention/risk reduction educational programs on campus and enhancing the capacity of the health services on each campus to provide HIV/STD risk reduction services.
