The G. R. Little Library staff celebrated the opening of the Quality Enhancement Program Satellite Writing Studio on January 15. This one, located in room #118 of the library, will service students from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Student tutors, who must maintain a 3.0 grade point average or higher, will assist their peers Monday through Thursday. A $31,315 federal Library Services and Technology Act grant awarded by the State Library of North Carolina provided much-needed funds for the writing studio computers and furniture. Dr. Juanita Midgette-Spence said she and the library staff were happy to open a site that would service students beyond the hours, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., of the original site in Johnson Hall. The new evening hours will better suit some students who work during those hours or their scheduled family obligations restrict them. Service is based upon advance appointment, 335-8514 libraryQEP@ecsu.edu
