Lady Vikings headed for Eastern Division meet

The Elizabeth City State University bowling team wrapped up the final day of the first Eastern Division Meet of the year in third place behind Bowie State University and Saint Paul’s College. The Lady Bulldogs captured the Meet with a perfect 15-0 record followed by the Lady Tigers at 11-4 with ECSU posting a 9-6 mark. Virginia State and Virginia Union rounded out the five team tournament with 4-11 and 0-15 records, respectively. An individual from each team received MVP honors and for ECSU Monique Francois brought home that honor. Bowie State, the two-time defending CIAA Champions, finished their flawless weekend by rolling the highest Baker Pin total on Sunday with 4624. They were followed by Saint Paul’s (4504), ECSU (4059), Virginia State (3679) and Virginia Union (2581). The Lady Vikings finished the competition with a team average of 162 and for the weekend topped all teams with the best scratch game total of 213. ECSU Bowling will return to action at the second Eastern Division meet October 5-7, 2007. It will take place at Bowl America Southwest in Midlothian, VA and will be hosted by Saint Paul’s College.
