Jones named to Daktronics All-Super Region 1 second team

ECSU’s Rod Jones has been named to the 2008 Daktronics Division II All-Super Region 1 Football Defensive Second team. Jones, who was a CIAA Defensive First Team Honoree in 2008, was one of three CIAA football player named to the Super Region team. 2008 Offensive Rookie of the Year Taron Hampton (Second Team) of Virginia State and Defensive Player of the Year Louis Ellis (First Team) of Shaw were also recognized. This past season Jones was named CIAA Defensive Back of the Week three times and led the Vikings in total tackles with 91 which ranked second in the CIAA.
