Jocelyn Foy named Interim Assistant Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management at ECSU

Elizabeth City State University Chancellor Charles L. Becton has named Ms. Jocelyn Foy as interim assistant vice chancellor for enrollment management, effective August 4, 2014. Ms. Foy replaces Myron Burney, former interim assistant vice chancellor for Enrollment Management. &quotI am not just happy, but also excited that Ms. Foy will lead our enrollment management team. She is well-credentialed, highly skilled, superbly experienced, and extremely knowledgeable in enrollment management matters. Her passion, enthusiasm, work ethic, and skills, like those of her predecessor, Myron Burney, will greatly benefit ECSU,&quot said Becton. Ms. Foy comes to ECSU with over 30 years of enrollment services experience in higher education. Most recently, she served as interim associate vice chancellor for Enrollment Management &amp director of Admissions at Winston-Salem State University (WSSU). There she was responsible for five critical student services units-admissions (undergraduate and graduate), university registrar’s office, scholarships and student financial aid, recruitment and enrollment communications office, and the integrated student services solution center. She also managed the enrollment operations committee providing oversight for university enrollment planning, enrollment goal setting, retention strategies and services that support a seamless enrollment process from pre-admission to post graduation of enrolled students. Prior to WSSU, Foy served as assistant vice chancellor for enrollment services and director of undergraduate admissions at North Carolina Central University, director of Adult Education Program at Greensboro College, director of Graduate Enrollment Services for the College of Engineering at North Carolina A&ampT State University, and as an admissions counselor at both North Carolina A&ampT State University and at Bennett College. &quotThere is no doubt that I am extremely humbled by the privilege to join ECSU particularly at this critical time in its rich history,&quot Foy said. &quotI welcome Chancellor Becton’s invitation to not just advance, but to accelerate the momentum initiated by Myron Burney and Grady Deese, both of whom were personally respected enrollment management colleagues. I hope to inspire the Viking Family to join me in fully embracing an ECSU culture that is efficient, collaborative, student-centered, and in spite of all obstacles, unwavering.&quot Foy earned a B.S. degree in human services from North Carolina A&ampT University and a master’s degree in adult education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She also completed the University of Management in Professional Development of the University of North Carolina.
