Elizabeth City State University senior All-American Anthony Hilliard named to the 2008-09 Pre-Season All-CIAA Team. The Pre-Season Team and Predicted Order of Finish (selected by the CIAA Men’s Basketball Association) were announced at the Annual CIAA Basketball Press Conference at the Charlotte Convention Center. The Vikings, who finished 20-7 overall last season, are expected to end the season tied at second place in the CIAA Eastern Division with Virginia Union University. Hilliard, the reigning CIAA Player of the Year, earns the third Pre-Season recognition of his career. Last season he earned CIAA Player of the Year and All-American honors after leading the conference in both scoring (19.7) and rebounding (11.4). He also named the South Atlantic Region Co-Player of the year and for the second consecutive year was the only men’s basketball player to average a double-double.
