Elizabeth City State University’s annual International Week has gone virtual. As the university continues to take precautions to stem the spread of COVID-19, the events that traditionally make up this highly anticipated week will be made available to the campus and surrounding community via Zoom beginning Tuesday, Nov. 10 through Wednesday, Nov. 11.
From India and Bangladesh, to Africa, China, Spain and beyond, much of ECSU’s faculty comprise a global melting pot that allows for so much interesting diversity, that sharing the cultural wealth is a virtual journey around the globe. And with events ranging from a Zumba fitness dance class to a cooking demonstration and games from around the world, there should be plenty of celebration and information to keep you interested.
“International Week is designed to celebrate the international flavor of ECSU while promoting a global perspective throughout the campus and the greater Elizabeth City community,” said Dr. Andre Stevenson, director of the Office of International Programs. “While we look forward to getting back to in-person events in the future, we can still celebrate the campus’s diversity and rich cultural history through a virtual platform.”
