The ECSU Symphonic Wind Ensemble will hold its annual spring concert at 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 29 in the auditorium of the Mickey L. Burnim Fine Arts Center. The concert will feature works from composers Clifton Williams, David R. Holsinger, J. C. Heed, and more. The Symphonic Wind Ensemble is linked to a course, Music 401 taught by Tomisha Brock, conductor of the ensemble. The performance serves as an assessment of the skills the students gained over the last semester. "This concert has been held at the university since the late 1960s. Students should adequately display their knowledge of the national music standards for collegiate musicians," Brock said. "The students performing include those from the freshmen to the senior level. Many of the undergraduates are expected to participate again in the wind ensemble." This concert is free and open to the public however attendees are asked to donate a pair of gently used men’s, women’s, or kid’s shoes in support of the band’s charitable shoe drive.
