Jamar Jones
Elizabeth City State University (ECSU) has appointed Mr. Jamar Jones to serve as chief information officer (CIO) effective February 1, 2023.
Jones brings broad experience to ECSU across the spectrum of higher education information technology. He has over 10 years of strategic, operational, academic and digital systems management. Jones’ experience includes administrative and instructional support of information and learning technology solutions and services exclusively within higher education. He joins ECSU after serving as director of Information Technology at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill School of Government.
As CIO, Jones will manage the IT team members in serving the campus, achieving the university’s strategic goals and collaborating with strategic stakeholders to lead ECSU into digital transformation. Among his key areas of responsibility, he will oversee the continuing evolution and refinement of technology and organizational strategies and structures that support ECSU’s needs.
