ECSU celebrates American and International Education Week November 18 – 23

Join Elizabeth City State University for a weeklong celebration of American and International Education Week. For several years, the university has combined American Education Week, a long standing national observance that celebrates public education and educators. During the same week, the university celebrates International Week, an observance designed to spotlight the virtues of a multi-cultural populace. The theme for this weeklong observance is: Great Public Schools – A Basic Right and our Responsibility: Learning Matters Around the World.&quot The list of public events and the ECSU professors involved follows: Monday, Nov. 18 1:15 – 2:30 p.m. Health and Fitness Assessment Fair – in the Melvyn N. and Vonda Reed Riley Wellness Center – Mrs. Priscilla Osterhouse, of the Department of Health and Physical Education. 3 p.m. – 4 p.m. &quotMulti-Modal Approach for a Multi-Ethnic Online Class&quot- in room 138 Johnson Hall – Dr. Mary-Lynn Chambers from the Department of Language, Literature and Communication. 4:30 p.m. – 6 p.m. International Tea and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony -in the Willie and Jacqueline Gilchrist Complex. This event will highlight all planned events for the week and recognize our cooperating teachers and the partnership between ECSU and the LEAs, as well as an opportunity for our students, faculty, and community to learn and share cultural experiences, and enjoy delicious teas and coffees that are favored around the world.
