Derrick Wilkins named Chief Information Officer

June 15, 2006After conducting a national search, Chancellor Mickey L. Burnim is pleased to announce that Mr. Derrick L. Wilkins has been named Chief Information Officer. Since May 2005, Mr. Wilkins has served as Interim Chief Information Officer. Prior to serving as Interim CIO, he had been the ECSU Director of Academic Computing and End User Support since 1993. With over 15 years of professional experience, Mr. Wilkins brings a wealth of knowledge to the position not only about information technology, but also about the university. Having graduated from ECSU in 1988, he understands the institution from the student perspective as well. After graduating from ECSU, Mr. Wilkins furthered his education, earning a master’s degree from Clark Atlanta University in 1990.
