Conference leads students to Alaska

Dr. Linda Hayden and two students, Karitsa Williams, and Danielle Grave, joined remote sensing researchers across the country in Anchorage, Alaska for the IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, "Science for Society: Exploring and Managing a Changing Planet." While there Dr. Hayden made a presentation, "Mentoring Minority Undergraduates through Remote Sensing and Geo-Information Sciences Research. Grave gave a poster presentation, Science, Settlement, And Remote Sensing: Locating the remains of the Lost Colony of NE North Carolina. Williams gave a presentation, "The Effects of Wind Speed and Direction on both Sea Surface Temperature and Strandings of Harbor Porpoise."
