January 12, 2005Chancellor Mickey L. Burnim of Elizabeth City State University was recently elected to serve a three-year term as a member of the Board of Directors for the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU). AASCU is a higher education association whose membership is comprised of more than 430 colleges, universities and systems of public higher education throughout the United States and its territories. Chancellor Burnim has served as Chancellor of ECSU since 1995. He holds three degrees in economics-a B.A. and a M.A. from the University of North Texas, and a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Wisconsin at Madison.
