Award-winning Entertainer Omarion Visits ECSU for HBCU Mental Wellness Tour on Nov. 8
Singer and Actor to Lead Workshop as Part of Mental Health Initiative
Elizabeth City State University (ECSU) will host Grammy Award-winning entertainer Omarion on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at 7 p.m., as part of the artist’s “HBCU Sound Bath Meditation Experience” tour that prioritizes the mental well-being of students at Historically Black Colleges and Universities. The tour follows the release of his new book, “Unbothered: The Power of Choosing Joy” on HarperOne in September 2022.
Omarion’s book addresses three pillars of holistic wellness: spiritual, mental and physical. He reveals stories alongside the techniques that keep him grounded, even through public setbacks.
During the event, Omarion will share his daily solutions and guidance practices of being “unbothered,” driven by exercising emotional intelligence: the process of responding rather than reacting to stressful situations. The event includes a fusion of breathwork and meditation led by Omarion, followed by an immersive sound bath, which is described as a meditative and relaxing experience with crystal singing bowls and sound waves.
The singer and actor rose to popularity in the 2000s as the lead singer of the R&B band, B2K. Throughout his career as a boy band member and solo artist, Omarion has achieved numerous Billboard 100 top-charters and his single “Post to Be” achieved certified triple platinum. He has two children, and lives in Los Angeles.
Tickets are available for the event and cost $10 per person. Registration is required.
