By Dr. Linita Shannon: The visual and performing arts come together for one evening Tuesday, Nov. 10 at 7:30 p.m., when the Elizabeth City State University Department of Visual and Performing Arts presents “Collage: An Evening of Jazz and Art.”
Taking place on the main stage of the Ridley Student Center, art students from the visual arts studios of professors Clarence Goss and Jeff Whelan will provide innovative design through gesture drawing and digital art, while music students will perform jazz. According to ECSU music professor, Douglas Jackson, it is the first time the department has brought the two disciplines together for a multimedia performance and show.
