Entrepreneurship Fab Lab and Social Media Marketing Lab to Open on Campus
ECSU to Host Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for Two New School of Business and Education Labs on Nov. 1
Elizabeth City State University (ECSU)’s School of Education and Business will celebrate the opening of its Entrepreneurship Fab Lab and Social Media Marketing Lab on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, beginning at 1 p.m.
The new university labs are part of the Department of Business, Accounting and Sport Management. Funding was provided for both labs through a grant from the PNC Foundation that was awarded in February 2022. With state-of-the-art technology and computer stations, the labs will fuel students’ ability to innovate, design, create and build or support business development.
A portion of the award established the Entrepreneur Lab, which offers resources and development opportunities for students interested in launching and marketing a business. It will allow students to create prototypes of their products and features a Glowforge, Cricuit, embroidery machine, sewing machine, heat press, and creativity tools to help them bring their ideas to reality.
The Social Media Marketing Lab supports in-classroom curriculum in the Department of Business, Accounting and Sport Management, as well as programs in the Department of English and Digital Media. It features iMacs, laptops and desktop computers, a wide-format printer, shadowboxes, a green screen and camera setup to allow students to create marketing materials for their businesses.
