Students are Invited to Attend Tuition and Student Fee Forum
Elizabeth City State University will hold two tuition and student fee forums on Thursday, Nov. 4 at 11 a.m. and Wednesday, Nov. 10 at 5 p.m., in an effort to receive feedback from university students. Both forums will take place inside room 216 at the Student Center.
All students are invited attend these informational sessions and participate in the process.
“I highly recommend students attend this forum, the university is committed to transparency by sharing with us the proposed changes in fees and receiving our input. If you want to have your voice heard, this is the opportunity. Don’t miss it,” said Dorian Record, Student Government Association Vice President of Finance and student representative on the Tuition and Fee Committee.
The process has been initiated by the University of North Carolina System offices and is taking place across all 17 UNC constituent campuses. The format will include a presentation of information focusing on tuition and student fees for the 2022-2021 school year and take into consideration feedback from students.
Since ECSU is a part of the N.C. Promise tuition program, setting tuition at $500 per semester for in-state students, and $2,500 for out-of-state students, the focus of the forums will be primarily on student fees. Fees to be discussed are student activities, athletics, health services, education and technology, and campus safety.
The information obtained from the forums will be used by ECSU staff and student leadership to make recommendations to Chancellor Karrie G. Dixon, who will then issue ECSU’s proposal to the ECSU Board of Trustees and the UNC Board of Governors.
