ECSU Student Government Holds Homeless Awareness Campaign, Food Drive

On Wednesday, March 6, The Elizabeth City State University Student Government Association held a campaign to raise awareness of homelessness, and to collect food donations for the campus Vikings Care Food Pantry. Students were invited to pose for photos inside a cardboard box, obscuring their faces with a sign that simply read, “Homelessness Does Not Have a Face!!!”

The students also encouraged donations to the campus food pantry. The pantry, which was launched in the spring of 2018, provides students with food assistance.

Hundreds of Viking students are helped by the pantry each month. In addition, the Vikings Care Food Pantry coordinates with a food pantry located inside the ECSU Office of Military and Veterans Affairs, providing assistance to military students and military personnel in general.
