Hilliard Walker named CIAA’s top player top coach

Elizabeth City State guard Anthony Hilliard and Coach Shawn Walker were named CIAA Player and Coach of the Week on February 18. In the Vikings’ win over Saint Augustine’s Anthony Hilliard a junior posted game highs of 30 points and 12 rebounds. He also led the Vikings past the University of the District of Columbia with 19 points and 10 rebounds and Virginia State with 17 points and 10 rebounds. For Hilliard a Fayetteville NC native this represents his fourth Player of the Week honor for the season. Coach Shawn Walker led his team to a 3-0 record to earn Coach of the Week honors for the fifth time. ECSU avenged three of its four losses this season with wins over UDC Saint Augustine’s and Virginia State. The Vikings wrapped up their regular home season sporting an unblemished 12-0 record.
