City Council declares October “ECSU Month” 1

&lta href=&quotdocs/proclamation.pdf&quot target=&quot_blank&quot&gt&ltimg src=&quotimages/ECSUMonth.jpg&quot align=&quotleft&quot width=&quot350&quot height=&quot328&quot alt=&quotECSU Month&quot hspace=&quot5&quot /&gt&lt/a&gt The City Council of Elizabeth City issued a &lta href=&quotdocs/proclamation.pdf&quot target=&quot_blank&quot&gtproclamation&lt/a&gt at their September 22, 2014 meeting announcing October as Elizabeth City State University Month. ECSU Interim Chancellor Charles Becton, left, accepted the proclamation from Mayor Joseph Peel (right) and thanked the council for their support of the university. The proclamation recognizes the university for its recent #1 ranking in Washing Monthly, for contributions to the economy, and its efforts to weather recent challenges. Dr. Stacey Franklin Jones is currently serving as Chancellor of Elizabeth City State University. Her term began October 1, when she replaced Becton.
