Criminal Justice students inducted into Alpha Phi Sigma

The Chi Rho Omega Chapter of Alpha Phi Sigma, the national criminal justice honor society, recently inducted new members at Elizabeth City State University: Kadijah Jones, Katlin Smith, Cierra, Staton, Michael Davis, Titus Lee David Hanson and Lavette Cooper-Jones. The goals of Alpha Phi Sigma are to honor and promote academic excellence, community service, educational leadership, and unity. Dr. Lyn Barnes, an associate professor of criminal justice at ECSU, is the chapter’s faculty advisor. ECSU’s criminal justice degree program prepares students for career positions related to law enforcement, the court system, positions with state corrections, and graduate school studies of the causes of and treatment for crime. After earning their bachelor’s degree, the graduates can pursue a series of entry level jobs related to criminal justice: Park Ranger Magistrate Judicial Services Coordinator Police Officer Corrections Officer Correctional Case Manager Postal Service Investigator Security Specialist Fish &amp Game Warden Pre-Trial Services Officer Parole Case Analyst Loss Prevention Specialist Private Security Officer Deputy Sheriff Probation and/or Parole Officer Juvenile Court Counselor Judicial Assistant Public Safety Officer SBI Agent Victim Services Specialist School Resource Officer
