ECSU hosts Federal Employment Workshop for Veterans
Veterans deserve all the assistance they can receive and Elizabeth City State University is doing its part. On June 22 and 23 on the ECSU campus, the university’s Veterans Center in cooperation with Coast Guard Base Elizabeth City and the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, is hosting the Federal Employment Workshop for Veterans.
The purpose of this two-day workshop is for veterans to learn about the steps needed to become a federal employee and how to write a federal resume. Experts from The U.S. Office of Personnel Management will be on hand to guide veterans through the process.
The experts will help veterans understand the federal employment process. Attendees will focus on navigating and managing a USAJOBS account and learn the best practices to apply for federal positions. The program is designed for all veterans from transitioning military service members and their families, to student veterans and in between.
In addition, a number of agencies will be on hand to assist with questions and information about veterans benefits. Those agencies include Disabled American Veterans Transition Service, N.C. Dept. of Commerce Division of Workforce Solutions and the N.C. Division of Veterans Affairs.
The workshop happens June 22 and 23 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., each day in the Information Technology Center on the ECSU campus. To register for the free event go to www.eventbrite.com/e/federal-employment-workshop-tickets-25386648148.
