April 18, 2005Chancellor Mickey L. Burnim appointed Mr. Derrick L. Wilkins as Interim Chief Information Officer. Mr. John Smith will retire on May 1, 2005. During the month of April, Mr. Smith will serve as Special Assistant to the Chancellor and will work with Mr. Wilkins as he makes the transition. During the period that Mr. Wilkins is serving as Interim CIO, the support staff from Academic Computing will report to Mr. Thomas Parrish, Director of Network Services. This support staff includes: Angela Carver, Rufus Dance, Carlton Lamb, Shellee Rust, Jerrubiel Gibbs and Al Muldrow. Damond Nollan and Susan Peck will continue reporting to Mr. Wilkins.
