PLUMMER NAMED CIAA LINEMAN OF THE WEEK

September 12, 2005 ELIZABETH CITY, NC- Emanuel Plummer, a junior linebacker on the Elizabeth City State University football team has been named CIAA Defensive Lineman of the Week. This marks the second time in 2005 that Plummer has received Lineman of the Week honor and his third career recognition as he was also garnered the accolade last season (10/23/04). In the Vikings loss to Fayetteville State on Saturday, September 10th, Plummer collected a game high 13 tackles including 2 for a loss of 10 yards, a forced fumble and a sack for a loss of 9 yards. In the CIAA, Plummer is tied for 1st in tackles (11.3 per game), 6th in sacks (0.67 per game) and 4th (2.0 per game) in tackles for loss. The Vikings (1-2, CIAA 0-0) will return to action on Saturday, September 17, as they travel to take on Winston-Salem State. Kickoff is scheduled for 6pm at Bowman-Gray Stadium in Winston-Salem, NC.
