Trahan named CIAA player of the week

December 06, 2005 Celeste Trahan, a sophomore center on the Elizabeth City State University womens basketball team, has been named CIAA Player of the Week. In two games last week, the Stockton, Ca. native averaged 20 points, 14.5 rebounds, 3.5 steals, and 2 blocked shots. Her best outing came in a 68-64 loss to Carson-Newman on Saturday afternoon at the OrthoCarolina Invitational hosted by Wingate University. In that game, she scored 26 points, pulled down 16 rebounds and added 4 steals and 2 blocks. She was also named to the All-Invitational team after a two day performance in which she collected her 32nd and 33rd career double-doubles. Currently Celeste ranks second in the CIAA in scoring (20.3ppg), first in rebounding (15.5) and is second in blocked shots (1.75). The Lady Vikings will hold their home opener this Tuesday, December 6, 2005 as a part of doubleheader against Barton College.
