Trahan is CIAA Player of the Week

January 24, 2006Celeste Trahan has been name CIAA Player of the Week for the third time this season. The Stockton, CA native, who has amassed 31 double-doubles in her career, averaged 20.3 points, 19 rebounds, 2.6 blocks and 2.3 steals as the Lady Vikings went 3-0 last week. Over that three-game span, ECSU picked up wins over Saint Augustines 88-73, Chowan College 78-34 and Fayetteville State 101-75. Trahans best performance came in the win over Saint Augustines in Raleigh, NC where she scored 26 points, grabbed 16 rebounds and had four steals. Currently her rebounding average is the best in NCAA Division II at 16.2 boards per game. Celeste leads the CIAA in scoring and rebounding, is fourth in field goal percentage and ranks second in blocked shots. The Lady Vikings will take the floor tonight in Washington, DC as they square off against the University of the District of Columbia. Game time is slated for 6:00pm.
